Strouds Run Winter Hike #7: Set 1

Hello Friends!  (Or anyone who stumbled on my blog.)  Saturday, I took my 7th winter hike (if you can actually call this winter) at Strouds Run.  I took a new trail, as it was fairly flat and easy.  My back is still giving me trouble, so we don't want to cause too much irritation.  No big hills for now.

Anyway, here is the first set of 2 photo blogs for that hike.  I found some really neat little spots and hope you like them too!

Enjoy!

Fill In the Blank Friday!

Play along here.
1.  My favorite room in my home is     I don't have a favorite room    because     it's my house and I like them all.  Really.  I love the bedroom because the colors are fun and funky (bright blue and green) the living room/dining room is comfy and casual, the kitchen is big and functional and the craft room/library just plain rocks!  .

2.   My current decor style is   eclectic  .  but I wish it were more    sophisticated, no, that's not right.  I'm totally happy with who I am in my home and don't really care what anyone else thinks.

3.  I wish I could redecorate the     bath    room in my house to make it more spacious, environmentally friendly and just user friendly.  My house (a rental, by the way) is really old and the bathroom is sooooooooo outdated.

4. My dream house absolutely has to have a   the biggest bathtub ever.  I want a huge bathtub with jets and a headrest and just all the works.  That is my dream.  But honestly, I really want to live in a Yurt.  Seriously.  I can live without the bathtub as long as I get to live in a Yurt.  Look at my Pinterest, there is a whole board.  (The bathtub in the Yurt would be 'HEAVEN') .

5. One house item I am willing to splurge on is a washer/dryer.  These are things that make life so much better and can't be done without.  Also, I like doing laundry.  I know, weird, but true.

6. A decor trend that I just don't "get" is   white carpets.  Why would you do that?  They are going to get dirty and fast.  I HATE when people insist that you take your shoes off in their house (some people just aren't comfortable with that) and if it is because you got white or really light carpet, that is your own dumb fault.  Think dark beige or brown people.  Don't be dumb  .

7.   For me, lots of books    is a little touch that makes my house feel like home

Burr Oak Winter Hike #2

On Saturday I had to get outside.  I haven't been able to go on many walks/hikes due to injuries and some issues of late but I was going stir crazy.  My need for nature, fresh air and just time with God in the outdoors was over riding my senses and I had to go.  So, I fueled up the car (my Lord are gas prices high!) and set off for Burr Oak.

I am so glad I did.  It was colder than I thought by the lake and I wish I'd worn my gloves and ear wrap, but all in all it was a great 2 mile walk and I felt better for it.  Plus I got some lovely shots by the beach and I'm always thrilled with that.  I did take it relatively easy and did not over-exert myself.  My back and hip are still giving me a lot of trouble and I need to be careful so, I walked slowly and very easy and took my muscle relaxants and pain medications before and after.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy these photos.  I loved getting out.  Its supposed to be in the 50s tomorrow and I think I'm going to try for another short walk again.  Wish me luck (and little pain!)

Sayings Saturday

Fill in the Blank Fridays!

I love Fill in the Blanks Friday!  Join me here.

1.  The highlight of my week was  reading lots of Dr. Seuss books to my preschoolers and helping them learn how to rhyme.  Loved it!

2.   If I had to classify my interior design aesthetic it would be   none.  I have no style.  I buy what I can afford or what is given to me and that is that.  I am eclectic.

3.  My first vehicle was   a 1989 black Pontiac Grand Am.  Then I had a 1992 red Pontiac Grand Am.  I loved those cars!

4. An item I need to have in my day in order to function is a cup of coffee and my watch.  I never wore a watch until about 3 years ago.  Now if I don't have it, I am not able to function properly!

5. My favorite way to waste time is playing around on Pinterest, or Stumble Upon.  I love those sites and am truly addicted!

6. Right now I could really go for a new job and a long vacation.  (Seriously if you know anyone who is hiring I am willing to do any type of office work, child care, recreation, event planning...shoot, just about anything.  I'd like to move to the Columbus or Akron area!)

7.  This weekend I will be job hunting, reading, working on some embroidery, hopefully taking some pictures for my blog and doing a little cleaning around the house.  All things that should be relaxing and get my mind off my problems!
