Work: Some Fun

So, along with being somewhat ill I have been working a lot.  Or what might seem like a lot.  Last Saturday was Lunch with Santa and this week we did a renovation to the Day Care Room.  The girls did all the painting; I just moved some furniture, put down the new carpet and did a little re-decorating. 

I took a few photos and I wanted to post some of them for you to see while I actually took some time to relax tonight!

Old and New paint.  The light yellow is the color I chose and we painted the room about 4 years ago.  The bright yellow is the new color I just chose.  I LOVE IT!

The new, slightly improved Day Care Room.  I moved all our furniture back in and I think it looks so good!  It is bright and beautiful, like a room for kids should be!

My new rug for the kids.  I love the tree, the animals and the colors!  I am so happy with this rug!

A final shot of the new Room.  I think the kids really like it too!  I know the staff think it is a bit bright, but I like it and as long as the kids do too, that's all that really matters!

Almost a HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!!!!

I'm very excited to have a holiday weekend coming up.  After working tomorrow (for only FOUR hours) I will be off for the next FIVE days!  Yippee!  I am so excited.  Of course, when I return...oh, well, we'll worry about that when it gets here.

Anyway, it's been a while since I've written.  Sorry, things have, as per usual, been crazy at work, with my health and I've been so super busy!  But, I have shot a few photos in the meanwhile.  Hope you enjoy them and are all as excited as I am for the upcoming Holiday. 

Took this last Friday while waiting outside with the Before School kids for the bus.  Just liked the way the shot of the moon lined up right between the flag poles.  It was a cold, but pretty morning!

A rainy, miserable, Sunday night drive through Columbus.  But, at least the lights were pretty!

My Preschool Class at our Thanksgiving Program today.  They are wearing their Native American Headbands or Pilgrim Hats.  Above them are their corn paintings and our giant turkey!  They did such a great job with the songs we sang!  (Again, faces pixilated for privacy.)

After the performance and eating, we had some time to take turns in the brand new bounce house.  I wish you could have heard their squeals of joy as they bounced!

I tried to get a shot today of all the water running down from the hills with all this rain we've been having.  There are mini waterfalls everywhere!

This morning and this evening it stormed.  Normally when this happens I adjust our day at camp and we do other things.  This is precisely what I did at work today and had to do at home tonight.  Kayla and I had plans.  We had discussed what the course of our evening would be like.  Home, make dinner (Kayla finisher her movie on Netflix), eat dinner, phone calls, playground time, bath, and bed.  It sounded like the perfect end to a busy day. 

It was not to happen.  It started thundering right as we arrived home and would continue to do so almost all evening.  Then the rain came, the wind picked up, lightening, etc.  So, I had to adjust and re plan the evening.  Instead of playground, we painted.  This is one of Kayla's favorite things, art, so it worked out fine.  Her favorite part of camp the last two days has been art.  (And today they had extra art time!)  She loves crafting and is totally awesome at it.

After painting, it was into the bath (as soon as the thunder stopped), do up her hair, read a few stories (just one more, please?), and time to sleep.  She was out in five minutes.  Now, I'm recuperating and regrouping and repacking from another busy day and prepping for another one ahead.  Its a lot of work, but so much fun, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Last night, after I had finished my blog, did the dishes and was getting ready to pack our bags for the day, I was cleaning up the living room.  I came across this scene and it stopped me.  I realized how totally lucky I am to have this small scene present in my living room.  I've decided to call this 'evidence of grace.'  No matter how hurt, unhappy or lonely I may feel, this is a part of my life.  I have three beautiful children that are a part of my life, permanently and I am blessed.  Crayons, dirty socks, tennis shoes and a cup full of chocolate milk on my living room floor.  Thanks God.  I don't deserve it but, you give it anyways.

The sky as the storms rolled in.

The sky tonight after Kayla was in bed.  It was just pink outside tonight. There was an ethereal glow to everything outside.  It felt calm and lovely!
