Wednesday, oh wednesday

Today was field trip day at camp.  So much fun!!  We took the kids bowling and it is such an adventure to bowl with them.  Most of them have very little experience with 'real' bowling.  They do Wii a lot, which they are proud of, but not bowling in an alley, with an actual bowling ball and pins.  Interesting.

Anyway, so fun on our trip, then back to camp for lunch, swimming and activities in the afternoon.  Specifically some of my children opted to do art.  And in art today, we made Goo.  Goo is so cool.  Below you will find a couple wicked, disgusting, odd pictures of goo.  We love goo.

So, then home for me and a nice walk tonight around the lovely Village of Albany.  That's the rest of my pics.  Enjoy!

A lovely flowering tree I came across whilst out on my walk.  Just thought it was pretty.

Yeah, that's right, more clouds.  I loved the look of the jet stream set across the clouds.  The sky was just this lovely color of blue and the clouds and jet stream were so bright...beautiful!
Flowers in a ditch.  Pretty.
Purple goo.  Sticky, messy, fun, fun, fun!

Ok, so I totally told Ethan his goo looked like intestines.  Then it turned into a very interesting science/anatomy lesson as he and most of the other children didn't know what intestines were.  And since Miss April is an expert on intestines, (though I really wish I wasn't), they learned something new and interesting in art today.  Who knew, goo.

And this is, what I have decided to term, the ultimate Time Out Chair.  It is in a stinky, nasty, blackened corner of a loading dock behind the old school across the street from my house.  There is, of course, a coffee can filled with cigarets nearby, so I know what it is actually used for, but still, it spoke to me.  I'm thinking about printing a copy of this picture, putting it on the wall of my office and telling my 'troubled' children this is the new time out chair behind our building.  Fear is an effective behavior management technique.  Wrong, but effective.  It's just a thought.  :)

Oh, and the Trivia question of the day: What state is the Grand Canyon located in?

Answer to yesterday's question: Water or a nose. (hahahahahahahahaha, this is really a riddle, but I thought it was amusing.)

Bor-ing!!

In case you haven't guessed by my title today, it was a boring day.  Work (in my stupid office), home to vegitate on the couch, wash dishes, blog and soon, bed.  Boring!!  Sorry, that's all there is to it.  But, I did manage to capture a few shots when we had a wicked, nasty storm blow in.  As I mentioned in a previous post, I like clouds, a lot.  And trees, a lot.  So, here are my photos for the day and at the end of this post.  Today's Trivia.  Ohhhhh!  Excitement.  (Sorry, I'm in a really sarcastic mood.)

Tuesday's Trivia:  What runs but never walks?

Answer to Monday's Trivia: the Blue Whale is the largest animal on earth.  Weighing in around 200 tons, these massive creatures average 95 feet in length.  Cool

Day 2: Hmmm.....

So, busy day today.  Work, store, TWO HOUR NAP (I never, well almost never nap like that.  So strange.), walk to Village Hall, and home to post some mildly interesting pictures.  And the only reason they're interesting, to me, is that the children I work with make good play dough art.  Yes, my life is that sad.  Hope you like my photos.

Oh, and I almost forgot.  Since I'm such a great teacher (haha, haha, haha; sorry I won't do that again); I decided today to start doing trivia of the day with the children.  I will post a question in our main room daily and allow them the opportunity to answer it.  All of the children who posted correct answers will be entered into a drawing to win a prize. (See: cheap crap I got from our supply company.  Good thing they're kids.)  So, I thought I would carry this on to my blog, just in case anyone IS actually reading it.

So, today's question is:  What is the world's largest animal? And how big is it?  (The animal must be currently living and not extinct.)  Good Luck!  (BTW, there is no prize for the adults answering on this blog.  Sorry.)

A concrete flower on the side of the old school across the street from my house.  Had to talk a quick walk there to drop off my water bill.  (It is currently the Village of Albany town hall, as well as other things.  Very. Small. Town.)

The back of my house, outside the breakfast nook and kitchen.  I've been trying to 'open up' a little and leave some of my curtains open.  I don't do well with that.  Privacy and personal space is very important to me.  VERY IMPORTANT.  But, in an effort to expand my comfort zone, these 2 curtains have been left open for well over 2 weeks.  I am so proud of myself.  (As a note, the nearest other dwelling behind my house is about a 1/4 mile away.  So, no real danger of anyone seeing in those windows.)

Peace.  At the Albany Village Hall.  'Nough said.

Mitchell's art.  I love his use of orange scented play dough, (that the children had just made themselves) to make a triangle of cheese.  Interesting design choice.

Abby's pug.  Made from tropical punch scented play dough.  Amazing.

Olivia's smiley face.  To be honest, it kinda creeps me out.  Why are you looking at me like that?

A stormy sky.  I like clouds.  You may see them a lot on here.  Sorry in advance.

"Oh no!"  This totally reminds me of Mr. Bill.  Love it!  This is Ethan's surprised face in orange scented play dough.  Nice work.
